How much does it cost? 

Creator Membership is £10 per month and Residencies start at £150. You can access the space for free between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Where does my money go? 

All income raised by Jolt goes back into keeping it running, that’s it. Alone this isn’t enough to keep Jolt running and we rely on funding and donations. 

Jolt Studios is a brand of Gloucester Culture Trust, Gloucester’s charity for developing the city’s creative offer for the benefit of its residents and the county.

What is the Jolt Resident programme and how long does it last?

You’ll be with us for at least 12 months, and will stay while you continue to develop, typically 2 years. The programme is our way of incubating your operation and helping you to grow. You’ll get dedicated mentoring support, access to all workshops and networking events and anything else we can cram in to help you along the way. 

What is the Wi-Fi like?

We think we have the best Wi-Fi in the city for large groups of people. It’s a superfast fibre optic connection with fast Wi-Fi coverage across the entire floor. Currently Creators and Residents have no speed restrictions and we’ve clocked download speeds as fast as 70mbps. Free users have the same great coverage but are limited to 4mbps downloads (still pretty good). 

How good is the coffee and is it really free? 

We pride ourselves on our coffee. We have a Jura bean-to-cup machine with real milk, meaning you can enjoy café quality cappuccinos, lattes or flat whites at the push of the button. It really is free and we hope to keep it that way.  

Who judges the applications?

Applications are judged by a panel of our management group, made up of GCT trustees, staff and a selection of Jolt residents. We need a rigid process to make sure Jolt remains true to its charitable objectives. But don’t get put off, Jolt is meant for people just like you and we will support you in making a stronger application if you need it.
